WARDOGS błąd Easy Anti-Cheat i 0xc000007b - jak naprawić (2026)

WARDOGS launches in Early Access on 10 September 2026 with kernel level Easy Anti-Cheat. Players in the closed playtest already cannot start the game because of two specific errors. I go through them together with the fix order, because there will be many more of them on launch day.

What Steam confirms

The Steam page states two things outright: the game uses an anti-cheat running at kernel level, and that anti-cheat is Easy Anti-Cheat. That is everything that is official.

BULKHEAD has not announced a mandatory Secure Boot or TPM 2.0 requirement. I repeat it because half the guides online tell you to go into BIOS and switch Secure Boot on before you have checked whether that is even your problem. Changing firmware settings is not a toggle in the game options and it can cut you off from your own drive.

The wider context is worth knowing. Call of Duty and Battlefield 6 already require Secure Boot together with TPM 2.0, and Riot does the same in Vanguard on Windows 11. Kernel anti-cheats are heading that way, because Secure Boot is the only mechanism that stops an unsigned driver from loading before the protection starts. If BULKHEAD adds that requirement during Early Access, nobody will be surprised. Today the requirement does not exist.

Two errors that already break the game

In the playtest people get these two messages one after the other. First the Easy Anti-Cheat window, then the application error.

Untrusted system file (coreinit.dll)

The path in the message points at the file coreinit.dll inside the game folder, in Binaries\Win64. This matters, because the error name suggests a system file while the file in question belongs to the game itself.

The meaning is simple: the checksum or the digital signature of that file does not match what EAC expects. There are three causes and only three. Your antivirus modified or blocked the file. The download is corrupted. The game build is ahead of the signature catalogue on the EAC side, which means the publisher is at fault and you cannot fix it yourself.

Application error 0xc000007b

This one arrives right after the previous one and is almost never a separate problem. The game process tries to start after EAC has already blocked one of its components. Fix the first error and this one disappears on its own. Do not reinstall Visual C++ or DirectX over and over, because it does not help here.

Fix order, starting with the least invasive

Do these in order and check after every step. Most people start at step six and end up with a broken system and a game that still does not run.

1. Verify the game files in Steam. A corrupted download causes most of these errors and checking costs you two minutes.
2. Add antivirus exclusions. The whole game folder plus the EasyAntiCheat folder separately. This applies to Windows Defender too, not only to third party suites.
3. Disable overlays. Discord, GeForce Experience, MSI Afterburner with RivaTuner, the Steam overlay. RivaTuner injects itself into the game process, and a kernel anti-cheat treats that exactly the way it should.
4. Check Memory Integrity. Windows Security, the Core Isolation section. It can block drivers and it surfaces as exactly this untrusted file error.
5. Repair Easy Anti-Cheat. In the game folder you will find EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe, run the repair for WARDOGS.
6. Uninstall the game, delete the leftover folder by hand, restart the computer and install it again. Steam leaves behind files that survive an ordinary reinstall.

If you still get the untrusted file message after these six steps, the problem sits in the build. Then it is the game Discord and waiting for a patch, not digging around in BIOS.

Secure Boot and TPM: check before you go into BIOS

Checking costs nothing and changes nothing. Press Windows plus R and type msinfo32 then read two lines: Secure Boot State and BIOS Mode. Secure Boot works only in UEFI mode. If you are on Legacy or CSM, switching Secure Boot on requires converting the disk from MBR to GPT, and that is a serious operation, not a click in BIOS.

Before you change anything in firmware, secure your BitLocker recovery key. Changing the Secure Boot state changes the measurements in the TPM, and disk encryption treats that as tampering and asks for the key on the next boot. If you do not have it, you lose access to your own data. You will find the key in your Microsoft account under devices. That is the only reason this paragraph is in bold.

On AMD boards the TPM feature is called fTPM or AMD CPU fTPM, on Intel it is Intel PTT. Older AMD boards had a documented stutter problem with fTPM enabled, fixed by a BIOS update. If you enable fTPM and suddenly get micro stutter in every game, update the BIOS before you blame WARDOGS.

What to do before 10 September

Early Access launch day is the worst possible moment to diagnose your own computer. Servers will fall over, Discord will be flooded, and you will be trying to tell your problem apart from everyone else's. Four things to do earlier.

• Check your Secure Boot state and BIOS mode with msinfo32. Knowledge only, change nothing.
• Find and save your BitLocker recovery key. Five minutes now instead of panic later.
• Update your graphics drivers and your motherboard BIOS. A driver released after a game launches usually carries a profile for it.
• Free up space on your SSD. Steam lists 50 GB of free space, and that is room to download and unpack, not the size of the install.

What this guide does not promise

I do not know how WARDOGS will behave on your hardware. There are already tests on YouTube with an FPS overlay, so it is worth finding one for your card. Launch day bugs usually look different from playtest bugs, so I update this post as they show up.
