How to Play Cache in 2026?

Cache is an incredible map with play potential, beautifully designed for playing in your own style, with multiple paths to rotate through without any patterns. Communication here must be top-notch, otherwise you're trolling. Play wisely and calmly; entering a bombsite with the right utility is easy, so reliable information about your opponent's location is paramount.

Foundation is MID

Pressure in mid as both teams - you take the spawn of one or the other and dictate the pace of the game automatically.

Standard:

  • 1 x White/Con

  • 1 x Forklift

  • 1 x Quad

  • 2 x B Heaven/Checkers/HS/Site - Many possibilites XD

Info on how many opponents are in mid - without it you won't be able to defend it yourself (probably)

  • Mid can't die without info

  • Anchors must respond to pressures

  • You can easily close down opponents who cannot break through a given position.

Pushing on this map is incredibly effective. Just make sure you don't give away space for free.

Rotations - don't panic

Over-rotate is the most common problem for lower Elo players.

If you play B:

  • Hold the exit from the vent - hide, prepare for a fake rotation.

  • Learn smokes for the most important positions - the ones from the official Valve guide are pretty cool.

  • Get into the starting position, ready to rotate.

On the cache you have so many opportunities to play off angle, use various boosts - a great map.

T side - how to break CT

It's hard to determine the balance of this map - it depends mainly on the skill of both teams in my opinion.

  • play for utility

  • force rotations

  • finish rounds at a fast pace

Strongest plays:

  • mid control → split Main and Highway + Elektro A

  • late B late smoke on HS/Heaven/Hell

  • fake Util on A and counting on quick rotation.

Don't play a plain exec without mid control. Unless their best players are stationed there or have started doubling up.

CT B site - must have timing

Delay entering the site as soon as it goes or on the contrary:

  • Quickly taking down approaching A/B mains gives you a huge advantage. They often don't expect aggression.

  • Be careful with burning new box and smoke, especially on heaven.

  • Push Mid for the Garage

You have to adapt to what T is doing, there is basically no philosophy here, the map rewards individual skill.

Diversity = mental advantage and you gain information - you learn how your opponent reacts.
